Series Statement: La Charrería es el deporte nacional, ícono de la mexicanidad.
Sus orígenes se remontan a la Colonia Española, cuando los grandes terratenientes, poseedores de grandes cantidades de ganado, contrataban peones y gente especializada en el manejo de las bestias, este a pesar de ser un trabajo duro, también era dueño de un particular estilo de vida, en el que la admiración por el trabajador más diestro era un orgullo, así, en la vida cotidiana se llevaban a cabo enfrentamientos amistosos. La fiesta y el tequila, eran parte de este estilo de vida.
Actualmente con el incremento de las ciudades y de la industria, la vida en el campo ha ido feneciendo paulatinamente. Sin embargo la fiesta charra para sobrevivir, se instituyó como un deporte.
Mi familia viene del campo, de los ranchos, de llevar al ganado al abrevadero, de marcar a los animales de la propiedad. Es cierto que ahora vivimos en una ciudad, pero para mantener esas raíces, y ese amor por la tierra, muchos permanecen en contacto por medio de este deporte, que cada vez se vuelve más competitivo y exuberante. Así que este es un retrato de los recuerdos de la vida en el campo, y al mismo tiempo de mi familia.

My family comes from the country, from the ranches, from bringing the cattle to their watering hole, from branding the animals of the property. It is true that we now live in a city, but many - in order to keep their roots and love for the land - do so through this sport that is increasingly becoming more competitive and lively. In this way, this is a portrait of memories of life in the country, and at the same time of my family.
